The International Prize of Music "Gaetano Zinetti” is a competition organized by the Municipality of Sanguinetto, founder and sole owner of the event.
The Prize was born in 1996 as a tribute to the memory of illustrious composer and conductor Gaetano Zinetti, who lived in Sanguinetto at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
The Competition in its new form is open to all styles and musical language.
All stages of the competition are open to the public, making the event a festival at which artists compete for awards and recognition of excellence.
The Competition came into existence through a collaboration between the City of Sanguinetto and CEM - Centre for Music Education - with the objective of promoting deserving musical talents and helping them to success in the concert world.
During the Competition, events enhancing the artistic life of Sanguinetto will take place in the city. The Competition is housed in the magnificent Scaliger Castle, home of the Municipal Theatre.
